About

THE FOOD MILL

At The Food Mill, we believe that food is the most basic form of love—and that everyone deserves access to fresh, nourishing meals. Rooted in the heart of Columbus, Georgia, we are a nonprofit social enterprise working to create a stronger, healthier community through food-centered programs.

We operate a community café, shared commercial kitchen, Mobile Market, cooking and nutrition classes, a heart-healthy food pantry and more, all designed to meet people where they are with dignity and care. Whether someone is looking for a healthy meal, starting a food-based business, or learning to cook for their family, The Food Mill is here as a partner and a place of possibility.

Our programs also offer culinary training and support for local food entrepreneurs, because we know that food is not just fuel, it creates opportunity. From cooking classes to mobile produce markets, every effort we make is about building connection and opening doors.

We’re proud to be part of a vibrant local food system and inspired daily by the resilience, creativity, and generosity of our neighbors. The Food Mill isn’t just about meals—it’s about movement. Together, we’re building a table big enough for everyone.

THE FOOD MILL

SHARED KITCHEN (coming soon)

Creating a culture where food is medicine means nurturing our own culinary talent and helping food entrepreneurs craft their own restaurants in a supportive environment. The Food Mill Shared Kitchen will serve as a shared incubator kitchen space. It is available to students graduating from the Open Door Community Culinary Program, the Columbus Tech Culinary program , local high school culinary programs, as well as other food entrepreneurs in need of a state-certified space to operate their cottage food or catering businesses.
